with Stanley Rosenberg, Thor Philipsen, Judith Johnson, and Catalina Ureta
This course will lay the groundwork for restoring the physical basis of emotional health within the nervous system. It is based on Stanley Rosenberg’s new book Accessing The Healing Power of The Vagus Nerve: Self-Help Exercises for Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Autism.
We will rethink common psychological problems through the vagal theory, including anxiety, panic, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, PTSD, autism, ADHD, and more. The exercises move deeply and are a powerful resource for helping oneself and others. This is a must-have, life-changing course for those suffering from nervous system disorders and other ailments resistant to conventional treatment. It will also be a wonderful opportunity for those who wish to increase their understanding of the body and the power of movement for greater physical and psychological well-being.
Topics covered will include the cranial nerves and neuroception, the polyvagal theory, the social engagement theory, the function and power of the breath, ventral vagal exercises, and so much more.
Anyone may attend, but the focus will be especially for professional therapists and body workers. This course is highly recommended for PNE practitioners and students.
The initial meeting will take place on June 21, from 7 to 9 PM, for registration, introductions, and overview. Each day following, we’ll meet from 9 AM to 6 PM. Stanley will teach from 9 AM to 1 PM, followed by a 1 hr break, then supervised practice with Thor Philipsen, assisted by Judith and Catalina, from 2 PM to 6 PM. Thor is Stanley’s protege and colleague at the clinic in Denmark.
A regenerative food bar will be available for the afternoon break and is included in the cost of the course. Accommodation is not included. We are currently working on finding nearby accommodations for a reasonable cost. We cannot provide transportation.
